The Annya Sand Prizes for emerging artists from the former Soviet States
The prizes will be awarded annually to the best emerging artists from the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe |

The 2010 Annya Sand Art Prizes were presented by HRH Prince Michael of Kent GCVO. The winning artist from Asia was K Prasun Roy. The winning artist from the former Soviet Union was Ekaterina Ezhkova.
The Annya Sand prize is an annual award and Galleries and individual artists from across the world have submitted entries. There is no charge for entry and no age limit.
A panel of judges will select the 30 best works, which will be on display in a dedicated room within the Russian, Eastern & Oriental Art Fair (click here for full details). The winners in each category are offered solo exhibitions in a prestigious London art gallery (dates to be arranged) together with a PR package to help launch their London career. |

In addition to the solo exhibitions awarded to the winners, all 30 finalists will take part in a major group exhibition at Asia House in London in March 2011.
The winners of the 2010 Eastern Art Prizes were announced by TV Art Critic Andrew Graham Dixon at the Private View of the Russian, Eastern and Oriental Fine Art Fair on Wednesday, 9th June 2010.
The prizes were presented by HRH Prince Michael of Kent GCVO and television interviews were conducted with the winners.
Judging Panel:
The judging panel will include leading London gallery directors, art press and PR experts. Panel members include Samir Ceric (Salon Contemporary); Jean-David Malat (Opera Gallery); Anna Hunter (Belgravia Gallery); Tanya Baxter (Kings Road Gallery); James Butterwick (James Butterwick Fine Art); Sarah Callaghan (Asian Art Newspaper); Cherie Federico (Aesthetica Magazine); Anthony Lester FRSA and Aliona Muchinskaya (Red Square PR).
The Panel is chaired by Andrew Graham Dixon.

Application Process (please note that entries for the 2010 competition are now closed. Details regarding the 2011 Prizes will be available in July 2010).
The Eastern Art Prizes are open to artists working in traditional media only. This includes painting, sculpture, print-making and traditional photography. Digitally-enhanced photography will only be accepted as part of a mixed-media process. To be eligible, artists must of of Russian / Asian / Middle Eastern nationality as appropriate, but the present country of residence is not a factor. Artists of dual nationality may also apply.

Galleries:
Established galleries can submit up to 5 artists with a maximun of 3 entries per artist. Include details of any exhibitions the artist(s) has held with your gallery.
Individual Artists:
Please submit up to 3 images. Where possible, please also include a brief biography, with details of art education, previous sales, commissions, etc. where appropriate. The Prizes are also open to self-taught artists. There is no age limit.
How to Apply:
Entries must be submitted as follows:
Low-resolution J-PEG or GIF Size: 600 pixels at longest dimension
For each work submitted please include clearly:
- Artist Name
- Date of Birth
- Nationality
- Title of Work
- Dimensions
- Medium
For each image submitted, please ensure that the artist's name and title of art work are included in the image title (e.g. 'van-gogh-sunflowers.jpg').
Please also include postal address and telephone contact number.

Please note: by submitting entries to the Eastern Art Prizes you agree to Russian Art Fair Ltd using the images as they see fit for press, PR and on-line voting.
